NOTICE OF RACE
1. Organization: The regatta is organized by the Canadian International Soling Association (CISA) and the Etobicoke Yacht Club, 300 Humber Bay Park Road West, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M8V 3X7. The regatta is designated as an international event with sailing to take place on the adjacent waters of Lake Ontario.
2. Rules: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined by the Racing Rules of Sailing [RRS]; the rules of the International Soling Association [ISA]; applicable Canadian Yachting Association [CYA] prescriptions; #61.2 Protest Contents, #68 Damages; the preamble to Appendix F, and F1 Appeals.
3. Regatta Classification: The regatta will be Category “C”.
4. Fees: The full entry fee is $385 Canadian. Early registration entry fee received on or before June 5th, 2008 is $360. Entry fee includes craning, mooring and a minimum of two dinners.
5. Registration: Registrations will be accepted by mail or fax at the Etobicoke Yacht Club prior to Tuesday June 17th and at the Etobicoke Yacht Club (EYC) between the hours 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 18th.
Sail measurement and safety equipment checks are required and will be conducted Tuesday June 17th 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday June 18th 4:00pm to 8:00pm. (Measurement and checks may be arranged based on demand.)
6. Condition of Entry: The Regatta is open to all yachts declared eligible by the CISA or other national Soling associations. Entry requirements include the registration form with signed waiver, proof of International Soling Association (ISA) membership. Measurement and boat weigh-ins will not be conducted however, all boats must have the sails to be used during the regatta stamped at registration at the Etobicoke Yacht Club. The type and number of sails permitted for use is during the regatta will be governed by ISA rules and replacing or changing of sails during the course of the regatta requires approval from the Principal Race Officer or the Chief Judge.
7. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid and adequate third-party liability insurance while racing.
8. Schedule of Races: Racing will be held on Thursday June 19th, Friday June 20th, Saturday June 21st and Sunday June 22nd. The first warning on Thursday June 19th will be made at 11:00 a.m. On Sunday June 22nd, no race will be started (warning signal) later than 3:00 p.m. Seven (7) races are planned.
9. Race Course: The race Course will be triangular or windward/leeward or a combination of these as shown in the Sailing Instructions.
10. Scoring: The low point scoring system, RRS Appendix A2 Scoring System will apply. Race results will be available as soon as possible following the last race of each day.
11. Protests: When one boat accepts a penalty following a mediation hearing, her decision shall be binding upon the other party to the protest, and the protest shall not be referred to the Protest Committee. The Mediator may allow a boat to withdraw her protest. These change Rule 63.1.
12. Awards: Flags/prizes will be presented to at least the top three finishers.
13. Sailing Instructions: Sailing Instructions will be available at the registration desk between the hours 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 18th.
14. Competitors’ Information Meeting: A competitors’ information meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday June 19th in the dry-sail area by the launch crane.
15. Drysail Facilities: A launch crane is available in the dry-sail area. There is ample parking for vehicles and trailers.
16. Launching: All boats must remain in the water for the duration of racing. Exceptions to this must be authorized on a case by case basis by the Principal Race Officer or the Chief Judge.
17. Social Event: Registration fees include social events which will be outlined in the registration package.
